In 2009 she was introduced to various fiber art techniques and her passion for color, texture and textiles has brought her full circle back to painting, though she now “paints with fiber”.

Usdan-Zwickler holds a B.S. Degree from New York University, studied Textile Design at Fashion Institute of Technology and painting at Parsons School of Design.  Also, she was an artist-in-residence at Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT. Born in New York, Betty relocated to Florida in 1975 and now divides her time between New York and Florida.

Currently, Betty is a juried member of the following prestigious art organizations: ArtCenter Alumna, South Beach, The National Association of Women Artists NYC and FL Chapter (past Vice-President) and 2+3: The Artists’ Organization, Ft. Lauderdale (past Board Member and Treasurer). Additionally she is a member of the Textile Study Group of New York, South Florida Basket and Fiber Group, Palm Beach County and a past Board Member Miami Women’s Caucus for Art.
